What I Learned
This was a two month long class project where we were tasked with making an escape room that is beatable in 45-60 minutes. The focus here was: puzzle design, difficulty flow in games, and hardware/software creation to make it possible. What ended up being the trickiest part of this project was figuring out how to link everything together without making it completely linear, as escape rooms typically have a large party playing and you don't want everyone standing around trying to complete one puzzle. We also tried to make all the puzzles fit the theme of a movie heist which created a fun constraint. One fun fact is that we also added an additional constraint in that we couldn't use invisible ink as a lot of escape rooms use it already. I'd love to talk more about this project as it was a lot of fun to work on, so feel free to reach out!
