What I Learned
This our main goals going into this project that we wanted to learn more about was, one, Steam integration, namely, achievements. More importantly, two, creating a scalable system that allows for skills to be made dynamically during runtime by the user through combining. I was quite surprised at how easy the first goal was to implement. We managed to get 45 achievements plus 6 hidden achievements into our game in about a day. The second goal definitely took a lot longer at the start of the project in terms of planning, and a few iterations during development. Utilizing inheritance and scriptable objects, we managed to add skills on top of other skills, and create organized scripts that feel good to work in. One other big win for this project was that we emailed about 30 youtubers, and managed to get about 10 to make videos about our game and give some great feedback!
